Spanish cellist, Ángela was born in Madrid, where she started her musical studies. After working with Eduardo Palao, she completed her undergraduate studies at the Royal College of Music in London. She pursued a master’s degree in Historical Performance at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater München and postgraduate studies at the Juilliard School in New York, under the guidance of cello professors Natalie Clein,Richard Lester, Catherine Rimer, Kristin von der Goltz and Phoebe Carrai, among others.

In 2019 she participated in the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment Apprentice Scheme, and she has played under conductors such as Sir Roger Norrington, Pablo Heras-Casado, Masaaki Suzuki, András Schiff, GiovanniAntonini or Vladimir Ashkenazy, in halls across Europe and the United States like the Teatro Real in Madrid, London’s Royal Festival Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields or the Shakespeare’s Globe, as well as Lincoln Center in New York.

Presently, under the patronage of the Mount Parnassus Foundation, she develops projects as leader of Thaleia, a flexible early music ensemble which specializes in pastoral poetry and comedy, as inspired by the muse of the same name. 

Ángela has combined her musical studies with her passion for teaching and social transformation through music, with the RCM Sparks Learning and Participation Programme, the Programa Musicosocial DaLaNota in Madrid, with Sistema Europe Youth Orchestra in Athens, or with Teaching Artist training workshops in New York, as well as with many private students of all ages and backgrounds.

Her creative side has also brought her to the theatre stage as author and performer. She always enjoys visiting friends abroad and baking for them, learning new hobbies, reading, and spending time with her family.
